Asia Series 2013 Character development II by Jungshan Asia Series 2013 Character development II by Jungshan
About Asia Series,Taiwan offered to host the event in November, 15th 2013
There are have 5 baseball teams from Japan , Taiwan ,Korea , Australia and Italy.
I participated in this even to develop the characters,
cooperation with Plugin Branding & Visual Marketing Integration Co.
The main idea came from the traditional "warrior" also we according to
their "clothes" and "history" belong to each countries.

For Korea that We did not draw he wear the warrior cap that because it looks same as ancient Chinese cap then easy to misunderstand these 2 countries difference.
Finally we decided draw the Scholar's Hat.

For Taiwan,  we choose the Amei aboriginal represented the warrior because the most of baseball players are Amei aboriginal and they are participating Asia Series this time.

Im an aussie and I must ask, is my guy a bush ranger or a war vet?

Must say, this is an awesome representation of an Australian warrior.

and I know this is going to sound like a cliche, but 'Good On Ya Mate!'.

Hi thanks! Actually before we made this design that we did a lots research and afraid to make wrong thing.  According to the " clothes" and history to let people easy understand " Oh! it is Taiwan" or Japan...etc.
But seriously, I wish you can tell me, I hope did not make wrong design to Australia!
:) Thanks for your support!

I'm Australian too and I want to say you did a good job with us. I think most Australians couldn't tell you WHAT our traditional warrior was. I for one always feel a bit left out when traditional dress or culture questions come up because (apart from the the very old Aboriginal culture of which I am not a part) we are a very young country and its hard to know what to do. So yeah you can definitely feel his Australianess which is something that is extra hard given what I have just said. I am a little excited to see us up there with all those rich and ancient cultures:P.

I also, as with all your art love how you get all that detail without compromising the fluidity of the strokes!

Nah, it's all good mate, if I were to guess, the design you've chosen is an old Australian soilder, and from what I can tell, he is about to pitch a cricket ball.

Once again, thank you, you done a good job.
